Local Missions in Chesterfield and RVA

WOODLAKE UMC COLLECTIONS

Collection of seasonal items needed in the community, such as clothing, food, winter outerwear, toiletries, personal hygiene items, household supplies, school supplies, etc.

GOD'S GARDEN

Grow organic vegetables on our campus for the Belmont UMC Pantry.

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

Plant, weed, water, mulch and harvest vegetables.

FOOD PANTRY

Help 320 families get the food and clothing they need.

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

Sort, pack and give out food each week; setup and breakdown pantry stations; pickup food from local stores; sort clothing donations.

BACKPACK MINISTRY

Provide an elementary-aged child on free/reduced lunch with enough food for the weekend.

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

Providing a weekly food packet for a child and/or help deliver all food packets to A.M. Davis Elementary.

WOODLAKE FOOD PANTRY

Make available food for families  who turn to our church in times of need.

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

Donate canned and dry food, feminine supplies and baby food.

RICHMOND FRIENDS OF THE HOMELESS

Provide food for the hungry in RVA through the non-profit "Richmond Friends of the Homeless."

OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

Prepare, deliver and/or serve meals at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Food Line.  Donate bag lunch items, help pack and deliver Sunday Sandwiches.

Come to the Missions Team monthly meetings. The Woodlake UMC Missions Team meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm for missions updates and planning ways we can best love on the least of these in our midst.  Anyone interested in Woodlake UMC missions is invited to participate.  For more information, contact Missions Co-Chairs, Doug & Viv Lees.
