Men’s Small Groups.
You might be wondering “What are small groups? Are they just another name given to Sunday Schools, Bible Studies or Prayer Groups? To some extent, the answer is yes. They do provide the opportunity to study God’s word and they provide a bridge to God’s grace through prayer. However, small groups for men go much further by providing the foundation for deep, life-changing relationships in the context of issues men face in their lives. It is a safe place where we can encounter God and find resources and truly meaningful relationships to nurture our spiritual growth. Small Groups Truly Change Lives!
So the next question you might ask is “How far along do I need to be in my walk of faith to participate?” The answer here is simple. No matter where you are in you spiritual walk, The Men’s Ministry at WUMC will strive to offer studies to meet your needs.

Men’s Ministry Care and Encouragement.
Woodlake UMC cares for its Church body. We know that members of our Church body may be struggling (silently) with addictions, financial stresses, marital strife, health issues, or other difficult situations. God calls us to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2) and to “encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). This is why WUMC offers support from its pastoral staff, the Stephen Ministry and other support groups - to come along side you and provide confidential Christ-centered care and encouragement. We also know that men may feel more comfortable speaking directly with another man about their situation. As a trained Stephen Minister, Dan Long serves as our Men’s Ministry “Care & Encouragement” representative to connect you (confidentially) with the right support person or group within WUMC that can best serve your needs. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3).

Men’s Ministry Steering Team Meetings
We are very excited with what God has in store for this ministry as well as for our church family. This New Year marks a turning point for us. Our focus this year will be on strengthening relationships in four specific areas:
· Relationships with our wives or significant others
· Relationships with our family and/or children
· Relationships with other Christian men
· Relationships with men at work and in our community
Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to further God's Kingdom here on earth through Woodlake's Men's Ministry. We are excited about the opportunities to serve and fellowship with you, and we hope that you will be able to join us as often as your schedules allow.
Our Steering Team will meet quarterly on the following dates, from 6:30-7:30 at the Hampton Park Campus. At 7:30, we host an open forum where all men of the church are invited to come and speak and be a part of this awesome ministry.
Upcoming Meeting Dates:
August 4
December 1
