Woodlake Orchestra
If you play an instrument, you need to play it with us! The Woodlake orchestra is growing and improving every year. All you need to do is come to rehearsals held on Thursday nights at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. The only requirement is that you have at least 2 years of experience on your instrument (even if that experience was 30 years ago. No kidding! Several of our current members hadn't played their instruments in 30+ years!). Please join us to praise the Lord with strings and flute (see Psalm 150), or whatever it is that you play!
Smaller Instrumental Ensembles
We are fortunate to have several smaller ensembles that have sprung from the Orchestra — a Saxophone Quartet, a Brass Quartet and a Clarinet Quartet, and we are forming new ones whenever possible. If you would like to be involved, contact the Director of Music and Worship.
Praise Band
The Praise Band is a group of instrumentalists (bass guitar, guitar, drums, etc.) who assist with the various groups as needed. Primarily assisting the Voice of Praise, the group also accompanies the Choir, Children’s Choir and other ensembles as needed. If you would like to be involved, contact the Director of Music and Worship.
Connect Band
The Connect Band is a group of instrumentalists (piano, bass guitar, guitar, drums, vocalists, etc.) who perform every Saturday night at the 5:30 pm Connect service. The band rehearses on Thursdays at 8 pm. They perform a variety of contemporary Christian music.
Other Openings
Soloists (vocal or instrumental), facilitators, music librarian, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, banjoists, dancers, photographers, artists in any medium. Whatever instrument you play - whatever style of music you like - whatever talent you possess, let us help you find a way to offer your gift in praise to the One from whom all talents flow. There is always a place for you at Woodlake UMC!
