One Year Remaining... We have now moved in to our New Hampton Park discipleship building and are using that wonderful facility to spread God's word throughout our community. We are now also moving into the last year of the "A Time To Build" capital campaign and thanks to the faithfulness and generosity of this church, we have received over $ 1,150,872.55 in congregational giving towards our pledged goal of $ 2,051,749. The three-year campaign began in December 2006 to fund the discipleship facility at Hampton Park. We had a great start to the Campaign with a $300,000 gift from the Virginia District of the United Methodist Church which raised our commitments to over $2.4 Million dollars. As we enter the last year of this campaign we pray that we can finish what we started by reaching 100% of our pledged goal. Thanks again to all the faithful supporters of the "A Time To Build" capital campaign, and let's all look forward to a successful conclusion to our campaign in 2009 as we reach out to spread God's Word to the community and beyond. Anyone interested in making a pledge to the campaign may pick up a "Making Waves" brochure available in the Welcome Center, complete the appropriate section of the pledge card, and place it in the collection plate, or drop it off or mail it to the church office. Pledges may also be submitted on-line by clicking here.December 2006 - November 2009

2006 WUMC Town Hall
The Horizon Team held a Town Hall meeting for the purpose of presenting options available to us as we move forward on the construction at the Hampton Park site. With the results of the "A Time to Build" campaign, the feedback from the Town Hall meeting, and a meeting with the Adult Sunday School classes earlier in November, the Horizon Team also made a recommendation for the revised scope of the first phase of the building project and the financing plan. The result of the Town Hall meeting was to build a Discipleship building and preschool instead of a temporary worship space due to the inflation of building costs.
