How To Connect

First Step:  Dessert with the Pastors

Quarterly throughout the year, Involvement Ministries will setup a "Dessert with the Pastors" meeting where you can just show up, meet the pastors and other staff members, enjoy delicious desserts and ask questions about faith, WUMC, our ministries, and Christianity in general.  Stay tuned for our next get-together!

Second Step:

Get Plugged In

“I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.” – John 14:12 (CEV)

There are a variety of ways to get plugged in at Woodlake United Methodist Church.  If you are ready to give back then read on for ways you can serve inside the church walls and out in the community and beyond.

Get Plugged In Interview

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

If you are still not sure how to plug in here at Woodlake United Methodist Church, then you are welcome to meet individually with a member of the Involvement Ministries Team or with the Director of Involvement Ministries, MaryKaye Cochran.  An Involvement Ministry representative will spend 15-45 minutes with you and listen to your interests, dreams and life experiences, and help you explore options for getting plugged in.  To sign up for a Get Plugged In Interview, please contact MaryKaye Cochran at 739-4535, ext. 33.

Third Step:  Small Groups

At Woodlake UMC, we worship as a large group but share our lives together in smaller groups.  A small group is a group of eight to 12 people who meet weekly or every other week in homes and are committed to LEARN by studying the Scriptures together, LOVE by providing support and encouragement for others, and LIVE by serving others.  You should join a small group so you can find a way to belong and connect, be transformed by the love and power of Jesus Christ, and grow in your faith and share God’s love with others!

A Small Group...Benefits You

“We joined a small group to learn more about the Bible.  We did learn more about the Bible, but some very unexpected things happened as well.  What we didn’t realize was we would also:

  • learn about God himself in addition to the stories in the Bible
  • see our relationship with God dramatically increase
  • meet new people we would look forward to seeing every week
  • and even in the worst of weeks, leave our small group with a smile on our faces and a brand new outlook on the weeks ahead.

The unforeseen benefits of joining a small group are enormous. We are thankful to be a part of such a wonderful opportunity.”  - Mark and Melissa E.

A Small Group...Engages You

“I never thought I would look forward to our study and small group as the highlight of my week.”  - Steve D.

“The Bible is God’s love letter to us.  Seeing the change in peoples lives has been an absolutely amazing and rewarding experience.”  - Tom B.

A Small Group...Connects You

“We didn’t know anyone when we joined the church.  The small group gave us good friends we know in worship service and made us feel like this is our church.”  - Gary and Stacy H.

A Small Group...Teaches You

“It’s exciting to hear the sermons and think – ‘I know what that story is about’.”  - Karen C.
