Congregational Care Ministry

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”  Galatians 6: 9-10

Congregational Care Ministry serves to:

  • To make disciples of Jesus Christ
  • To demonstrate Christ’s love in action
  • To promote a climate of caring community

The Congregational Care Ministry provides compassionate caring concern through personal contact with members of the church family who have special needs for spiritual support.  This care ministry reaches out to people who are experiencing personal or extended family illnesses that require hospital care or long term follow up to those who have lost a loved one, to the homebound and those requiring nursing facilities.

The Director of Congregational Care is available along with our Pastors to pray, support and counsel members of our church family and community through difficult situations.  These interactions are managed confidentially.

Congregational Care is a ministry for all believers, and here at Woodlake UMC it is supported by the Director of Congregational Care, the Pastors and volunteers.  More help and support is always welcome.

If you have a pastoral care need, any questions or wish to serve in this ministry of caring, please contact Julie Warren, Director of Congregational care by email or by calling (804) 739-4535 extension 32 or (817) 975 9216 cell.

Come if you need care and comfort; and come if you can give care and comfort.
