Youth Mission Events & Trips
The SURGE Youth Group provides monthly mission opportunities for students in 6th - 12th grade which include events such as Operation Christmas Child, visiting nursing homes and shut-ins, the 30 Hour Famine, river clean up, and other activities where youth can reach out to the community. Join us throughout the year for exciting adventures!
30 Hour Famine: Night on the Streets
When: February 17, 2012 @ 6:30pm - February 18, 2012 @ 7:00 pm
Where: Woodlake Campus
What: Youth are asked to begin fasting on Friday, February 17th at 4:00 pm.Where and When: Youth are asked to begin fasting on Friday, February 17th at 4:00 pm. During the fast, youth may drink juice and water. We even freeze juice to make popsicles. Meet at the Woodlake Campus on Friday at 6:30 pm. Parents and Youth will take part in a devotion and introduction to the events for the weekend. Parents will leave at 7:00 pm and the experience will begin!
On Friday night, youth will participate in activities revolving around famine and homelessness. They will sleep in cardboard boxes outside that night. On Saturday, the youth will do a service project and several other activities. We will end the famine by attending the 5:30 pm Connect service and then enjoying a home-cooked meal together. Parents Volunteers Needed - Please contact Amy to help serve and clean-up the meal.

MFUGE
What: At MFUGE, you can roll up your sleeves and jump right into mission! The highly trained FUGE staffers will take care of the details and facilitate the planning for each day while we get to invest our time and energy into a variety of mission projects such as
Children’s Ministry, games and recreation, Social Ministry, Creative Ministry, Painting, Construction, or Yard work.
Where: Philadelphia, PA
When: July 22nd—28th, 2012
Cost: $400 (subject to decrease based on fundraising)
Deadline: Registration & $100 deposit due by February 28th

Fundraiser: Youth can earn money towards their trip by
volunteering to help setup & serve (4—6 pm) or serve and clean up (6—8 pm) at this years Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on
Tuesday, February 21st. Email Amy@woodlakeumc.org to sign up!
Mission Team Meetings: All youth registering for the trip must attend at least three (3) Mission Team Meetings:
