Our Nursery Staff

Our nursery is a "co-op". This means that each family that uses the nursery serves as a Nursery Assistant for one service every 4-8 weeks. "Co-op Cards" are available on the nursery bulletin board. Completing a card and returning to a nursery worker will help the Nursery Administrator schedule you according to your preferences whenever possible.

Each nursery room has a Nursery Leader and one or more Nursery Assistants. Leaders are trained adult volunteers who are familiar with the policies and curriculum in the nursery rooms. Nursery Assistants are made up of volunteers and the parents of nursery children and serve once every 4-8 weeks. Youth often help in our Nursery rooms and have also completed training.

We always welcome anyone who wishes to serve in the nursery. Those who wish to volunteer as adult leaders, adult or youth nursery assistants, or as a substitute may contact the Nursery Coordinator, Linda Chapman, at 739-4535, ext. 62.

Health & Safety Policies

Identification

An ID tag is used on all children in the nursery. A nursery staff member will place one part on the back of your child's clothing while the other part is kept by the parent or guardian. When the child is picked up, the tags will be matched to insure that the child is picked up by the appropriate person.

Health

In order to insure the safety and health of other babies and workers, please do not bring your child to the nursery if any of the following symptoms have occurred in the past 24 hours: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, and/or Rash.

The staff strives to make the nursery as healthy and safe as possible. This is done through practices such as using rubber gloves for diaper changes, regular washing of toys and surfaces and periodic CPR classes.

Incident Reports

The nursery staff will complete an incident report if your child has been hurt, or has an accident that the parent will want to know about. The parent will be informed and asked to sign the incident report. The Nursery Administrator will follow up on all reports during the following week.
