Small Groups at WUMC

A small group is a group who gathers for study and fellowship in the name of Christ.  Welcoming of new members and using a variety of Bible study material, they meet weekly or every other week in homes or at the church and are committed to studying the Scriptures together, provide support and encouragement for others, and include time for fellowship.  As groups grow, they multiply to form new groups offering room for everyone!

"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."  Acts 2:46-47

ADULT DISCIPLESHIP OFFERINGS

Location Key:  HP = Hampton Park Campus, WL = Woodlake Campus, OS = Offsite/Homes

Childcare Policy:
The economy continues to impact many decisions in our homes, in our businesses, as well as, in our church.   Therefore, it has become necessary to increase the childcare fee to $3 per child per class session attended effective September 2009.   This does not affect children in nursery during worship and Sunday School nor does it affect children attending TeamKID or WOW.  As always, safe sanctuary rules apply as we provide the most loving and safe care for all our children.  Childcare is available for all groups and classes unless otherwise noted.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Class Fees:
Book and curriculum costs for small groups and classes are between $10-$15, unless otherwise noted.  Once you are registered for your class, your class leader will contact you with more information, including the exact price for materials.

Class Level Definitions:
Please use the following class definitions as a guideline to help you determine where you might be on your faith journey, making it easier to find a class to best fit your needs and growth.  You'll find the cooresponding key letters next to each class offered below.

O | OPEN — Class and group offerings open to all people at any step of Discipleship.

E | EXPLORING CHRIST — “I believe in God, but am unsure about Christ.” I have lots of questions, but don’t know where to start.  My journey is just beginning.  Who is Jesus?  How do I read and study the Bible?  How do I pray?

G | GROWING IN CHRIST — “I believe in Jesus and am working on what it means to get to know him better.”  Why did Jesus have to die for me?  Who is the Holy Trinity?  Can and does God work in my life daily?  How do I know?  What does the Bible really say?

C | CLOSE TO CHRIST — “I feel really close to Christ and depend on him daily for guidance.”  I try to read, study, reflect, and pray but I still want more.  How do really understand what it is God wants me to do and where it is He wants me to go?

CC | CHRIST CENTERED — “My relationship with Jesus in the most important relationship in my life.  It guides me in everything I do.”  I have found wholeness in Jesus.  I am undeniably a child of God and strive each day to know Him more intimately.
